Ethan «Modboy» Bramble, one of Australia’s most recognized bloggers, is famous for his extreme body modifications. At just 24 years old, he is virtually impossible to overlook in public. His striking appearance features a split tongue, cropped ears, blackened eyeballs, stretched nostrils, a sewn-in navel, and tattoos covering 95% of his body. These unique features never fail to draw attention, even from the most indifferent passersby.
Bramble views his transformation as a form of self-expression, akin to common practices like dyeing one’s hair or applying makeup.
“It’s the way you want to look,” he explained. “I’ve always believed you shouldn’t judge people based on their appearance.”
For Bramble, the journey of body modification is worth the challenges it entails.
“The end product is 100 percent worth the torment if you’re committed to it,” he said.
Of all the procedures he’s undergone, Bramble described tattooing his eyeballs as the most terrifying. He vividly remembers the anxiety of the moment:
“You have one person holding your eyelids open, and you have to stare at a specific spot on the wall. It’s incredibly stressful because if you move your eyeball while the syringe is in there, you could go blind. That’s definitely a sketchy one,” he shared.
Despite his bold choices, Bramble’s lifestyle has evolved since becoming a father. While he continues to revisit tattoo artists to rework or lighten certain areas, he acknowledges the possibility of showing his daughter pictures of his past appearance as she grows older.
